Drivers have six stats which impact their race performance. Each stat impacts a different part of the race. You can improve a driver's stats by upgrading them.
Overtaking:
Impacts the amount of overtaking possibilities that a driver can see, and also their skill in being able to make an overtaking move stick.
Defending:
Impacts the skill at which a driver can hold their position against overtakes.
Smoothness:
Impact tyre wear rates. Smoother drivers make tyres last longer.
Race:
Impacts their general speed during the race. A higher stat means a faster pace
Qualifying:
Impacts their starting position during the race. The driver with the highest qualifying number (including their starting tyre choice) will place first on the grid for the race.
Race starts:
Impacts how quickly a driver pulls away from their starting position at the beginning of the race.
